KENNEL MANAGER
HKDR are looking for a full time Kennel
Manager to be responsible for the overall care and wellbeing
of the dogs at our Pokfulam kennels, for ensuring that
dogs are made ready for adoption, for the cleanliness
of the kennels and for the management of the kennel staff.
The right person for this job will be organised, motivated,
dedicated, and willing to work in a noisy and often stressful
environment.
The Kennel Manager will also be expected to actively support
and promote adoption efforts and to function as a member
of the management team.
Salary will be based on experience and ability. Valid
HK work visa is essential. Applicant must be able to speak
& write English.

HKDR TRIBUTE
BOOK, 2008 EDITION
If you missed the opportunity for your dog(s)
to appear in last year's fabulous HKDR Tribute Book, reserve
your space now for this year's even-bigger-and-better

for details and reservations.
The participants in last year's book are currently featuring
in a photo exhibition in selected US cinemas, and 6 of
the lucky dogs will also appear on the upcoming special
edition T-shirts, with all proceeds going to HKDR.
Make your dog a star too, and make sure you don't miss
this chance. This book is for HKDR-adopted dogs only,
but Ali Bullock, our Superstar Photographer, will also
accept bookings for other pets, including humans, too.

| DESIGN COMPETITION
FOR HKDR PRODUCTS!
As valued supporters of HKDR you all know that we have
HKDR T-shirts for sale, and every year produce HKDR Christmas
cards and other products. This year, starting from now,
we are holding a design competition for both T-shirts
and Christmas cards and this is open to everyone, of all
ages. Come up with a great, eye-catching design for T-shirts
(should include the HKDR logo), and we will do the rest.
The top 3 designs will be chosen by our HKDR Committee
Members, and designers will be credited. For the Christmas
cards, we will be looking for 6 different designs so there
will be a variety of styles. Again, the designer will
be credited on the card. The competition starts now, and
entries for the card design will close on 31st July. For
the T-shirts, if we spot a great design, we'll use it
for the following production run. So get those crayons
out and start drawing! (Please email designs to hongkongdogrescue@yahoo.com).
All entries will be acknowledged.

Bart |
There is a mystery surrounding Bart which is,
how come he hasn't already been adopted?
He is the most wonderful, sweet and laid back
puppy, the only one remaining from 2 litters (same
parents, both now at our kennels and both now
desexed). Whatever ingredients went into making
Bart and his siblings, they were just right, as
all puppies were not only beautiful but also sweet
and gentle.
Bart has the colouring of his father (black and
tan) and is the shape of his mother, (large but
not tall). However, Bart also has thick curls
which neither of his parents has.
Bart's favourite thing in the world is lying down.
He loves to be around people and he also has lots
of dog friends, but his enthusiasm for walking
and rigorous exercise is somewhat lacking.
What Bart would really love is a family home with
children to pet and spoil him, and maybe another
dog friend to wrestle with. He would willingly
share his toys and dog chews with his family as
long as they gave him a tummy rub in exchange.

NEW HKDR FLYERS - NEED HOMES!
Our latest HKDR flyers have just arrived,
and we need help with getting them out across Hong Kong.
Please let me know if you can place these in any suitable
venues, especially in the New Territories as most of
our volunteers are HK Island-based. Offices, vet cinics,
residential developments (where dogs are permitted,
of course) - anywhere you can think of that will help
us find homes for our dogs and puppies. Help us save
more lives!

ADOPTION FROM OUR
POKFULAM KENNELS
If you are thinking about adopting one of our
dogs or puppies you are welcome to visit our Pokfulam kennels
to meet them. We are open every single day of the year from
10am until 7pm (closed during weekdays from 1pm - 2.30pm), but
please do email or call first to ensure that the dog you may
be interested in is at Pokfulam. Some of the dogs are in foster
homes and an appointment can be made to meet them outside. We
will also send you a questionnaire which will help us to make
suggestions as to which dogs we would recommend for you and
your home.
