Sun 11th March: A cold and wet afternoon
It was a miserable and cold day to be outside with the puppies at Whiskers’n'Paws, and I think they appreciated the coats they had on. Even so, after a couple of hours of playing snuggling in a pile was all they wanted to do, and I couldn’t blame them. Turnout wasn’t great – not surprisingly – but two very similar black fluffy babies were adopted, one new one and one that had gone as a foster but was now being confirmed as a keeper.
As always I was very happy to see our regular Sunday photographer, Semirah, and there are some great photos on the HKDR Facebook page.
Yet another one of our schnauzers (Trinket) left our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre today, just as well because I’ve been told there’s a new one being released from AFCD on Monday. We also had another newcomer arriving, a small mixed breed similar in size to our little Dainty although she’s already six years old. I hope it won’t be long before she is invited to join the trio of Dainty, Lizzie and Josie, although it will be even better if they leave for new homes (and just where were all the expected Lizzie adopters?)
The snugglefest continued in the evening, where I was joined by a large crowd of dogs on the sofa/bed for some TV watching. The little black puppy (I mentioned yesterday) joined us because she gets pushed around a lot by the bigger pups and she loves to be cuddled anyway. She was very happy to sleep on top of the other dogs and they were too settled to even notice.
